Unexpected high rate of early tumor recurrence in patients with HCV-related HCC undergoing interferon-free therapy

Phase observationalN = 58

Population
Patients with HCV infection and a history of treated hepatocellular carcinoma with complete response and no non-characterised nodules at the start of all-oral DAA therapy; 103 patients with prior HCC received DAA and 58 met the inclusion criteria.
Design
Multicentre (4 hospitals) cohort of patients with HCV infection and prior treated hepatocellular carcinoma in complete response who received all-oral direct-acting antivirals between 2014 and 2015; interferon-containing regimens excluded. Single group; no control arm.

  • DAA after treated HCC (experimental, n = 58): All-oral direct-acting antiviral therapy (interferon excluded)
