Tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes and interleukin-2 in the immunotherapy of patients with metastatic melanoma: a preliminary report (National Cancer Institute)

N = 20

Population
20 patients with metastatic melanoma: 15 not previously treated with interleukin-2 and 5 in whom previous interleukin-2 therapy had failed.
Design
Uncontrolled series of patients treated with adoptive transfer of autologous tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (expanded in vitro from resected melanoma) and interleukin-2, after a single intravenous dose of cyclophosphamide. Treatment course lasted five days (per the abstract).
Arms
  • TIL plus interleukin-2 (experimental, n = 20): Single intravenous dose of cyclophosphamide, then autologous tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes and interleukin-2
People
Rosenberg SA, senior author Seipp CA, National Cancer Institute (Surgery Branch, Bethesda, per the PubMed affiliation of the first author)
