LNH-98.5

CHOP chemotherapy plus rituximab compared with CHOP alone in elderly patients with diffuse large-B-cell lymphoma

N = 399

Population
Previously untreated diffuse large-B-cell lymphoma, aged 60 to 80 years.
Design
Randomised comparison by the Groupe d'Etudes des Lymphomes de l'Adulte (GELA) of eight cycles of CHOP every three weeks with or without rituximab on day 1 of each cycle. The trial name LNH-98.5 and the GELA attribution come from the title of the 10-year report; the phase is not stated in the 2002 abstract or the 10-year report, and no registry number appears in the abstract.
Primary endpoint
EFS
Arms
  • CHOP (control, n = 197): Eight cycles of CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone) every three weeks
  • CHOP plus rituximab (experimental, n = 202): Eight cycles of CHOP every three weeks with rituximab on day 1 of each cycle
