Graft-versus-leukemia effect of donor lymphocyte transfusions in marrow grafted patients (EBMT Working Party Chronic Leukemia)
Needs reviewPhase observationalN = 135
- Population
- 135 patients with relapse after marrow transplantation: 84 CML, 23 AML, 22 ALL, 5 MDS, 1 polycythemia vera with osteomyelofibrosis.
- Design
- Series of 135 patients given donor lymphocyte transfusions for leukemia relapsing after marrow transplantation (the abstract does not say whether data were collected retrospectively or prospectively, or from a registry); response monitored including polymerase chain reaction for bcr/abl transcripts in CML.
- Arms
- Donor lymphocyte transfusion (experimental, n = 135): Transfusions of donor lymphocytes for relapse after marrow transplantation
- People
- Kolb HJ, European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation Working Party Chronic Leukemia

| Endpoint | Analysis | Donor lymphocyte transfusion | Control | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CRPatients with CML (84 treated); denominator for the percentage not stated in the abstract | primaryKolb 1995 | 73% | — | 54 patients with CML reached complete remission, published as 73 percent. The abstract lists 84 patients with CML, but 54 of 84 is 64 percent, so the denominator behind 73 percent is not stated and could not be confirmed from the full text; do not recompute. |
