The Intergroup Rhabdomyosarcoma Study-II
N = 999
- Population
- 999 previously untreated eligible patients with rhabdomyosarcoma, entered after surgery
- Design
- Study of 999 previously untreated eligible patients (1978 to 1984) randomised or assigned to therapy by IRS clinical group (I to IV), tumour site and histologic type; outcomes compared between treatments and with IRS-I (1972 to 1978).
- Arms
- All patients entered on IRS-II (experimental, n = 999): Chemotherapy (vincristine, dactinomycin, cyclophosphamide, with or without doxorubicin) with radiation, by clinical group, with randomised comparisons within groups

|---|---|---|---|---|
| OSAll patients entered on IRS-II, including extremity alveolar and all pelvic tumours | finalMaurer 1993 | 63% at 5 y | — | P<0.001The abstract describes this as an 8% increase over IRS-I (P < 0.001), a comparison between successive studies, not a randomised comparison. |
