The Intergroup Rhabdomyosarcoma Study-I: a final report
N = 686
- Population
- 686 previously untreated patients younger than 21 years with rhabdomyosarcoma or undifferentiated sarcoma
- Design
- Cooperative-group study of 686 previously untreated patients younger than 21 years with rhabdomyosarcoma or undifferentiated sarcoma, analysed after a minimum potential follow-up of 7 years. Randomised comparisons were made within clinical groups I to IV (for example VAC with or without radiation in group I; VA plus radiation versus VAC plus radiation in group II; pulse VAC versus pulse VAC plus Adriamycin, each with radiation, in groups III and IV).
- Arms
- All patients entered on IRS-I (experimental, n = 686): Chemotherapy and radiation assigned by clinical group (VAC, VA, or pulse VAC with or without Adriamycin); the abstract reports no significant differences between the randomised regimens within each group
