Predicting Outcomes in Men With Metastatic Nonseminomatous Germ Cell Tumors (NSGCT): Results From the IGCCCG Update Consortium

Phase observationalN = 9,728

Population
Men with metastatic nonseminomatous germ cell tumours treated 1990-2013
Design
Pooled clinical-trial and registry data from 30 institutions or collaborative groups in Europe, North America and Australia; men treated with cisplatin- and etoposide-based first-line chemotherapy 1990-2013. Co-primary endpoints PFS and OS. A prognostic model for PFS was built in 3,543 patients with complete data and validated in an independent data set. Arms here are IGCCCG prognostic groups; roles are schematic.
Primary endpoint
PFS, OS
Arms
  • Good prognosis (control): Cisplatin- and etoposide-based first-line chemotherapy
  • Intermediate prognosis (experimental): Cisplatin- and etoposide-based first-line chemotherapy
  • Poor prognosis (experimental): Cisplatin- and etoposide-based first-line chemotherapy
