A Phase III Randomized Trial Investigating the Duration of Adjuvant Therapy (3 Versus 6 Months) With the Modified FOLFOX 6 or XELOX Regimens for Patients With Stage III Colon Cancer

Phase 3N = 2,010NCT00958737

Population
2,010 eligible patients (modified intention-to-treat), of whom 2,000 (99 percent) had stage III colon cancer; 1,809 received mFOLFOX6 and 201 CAPOX.
Design
Randomised, open-label phase III trial of 3 versus 6 months of mFOLFOX6 or CAPOX (physician's choice) as part of the IDEA collaboration. Primary endpoint disease-free survival; the abstract states that the analyses were descriptive.
Primary endpoint
DFS
Arms
  • 3 months (experimental): 3 months of adjuvant oxaliplatin-containing chemotherapy
  • 6 months (control): 6 months of adjuvant oxaliplatin-containing chemotherapy
