Infants with localized neuroblastoma without MYCN amplification
Design
Prospective cooperative trials of infants with localized neuroblastoma without MYCN amplification. Chemotherapy was scheduled only for threatening symptoms; otherwise the tumour was resected or observed by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. Of 340 eligible participants, 190 underwent resection, 57 received chemotherapy and 93 were observed with gross residual tumour.   • Observed with gross residual tumour (experimental, n = 93): Observation by ultrasound and MRI without cytotoxic treatment; chemotherapy only for threatening symptoms
