All were treated with primary surgery consisting of total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, selective pelvic and paraaortic lymphadenectomy and peritoneal cytology. Surgical-pathologic features were related to extrauterine disease.

| Endpoint | Analysis | Primary surgery with selective lymphadenectomy | Control | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Disease outside the uterus at surgeryPatients with Stage I carcinoma of the endometrium (621)Lymph node metastasis, adnexal disease, intraperitoneal spread and/or malignant cells in peritoneal washings | finalCreasman 1987 | 22% | — | The abstract gives '144-22%'. The counts as given (144 of 621) would be 23.2%, so the percentage and counts do not agree exactly in the source; the published values are reported as they appear. |
