GOG-204
Four cisplatin-containing doublet combinations in stage IVB, recurrent or persistent cervical carcinoma
Phase 3N = 513
- Population
- Stage IVB, recurrent or persistent cervical carcinoma; 513 patients enrolled
- Design
- Randomised phase 3 trial of four cisplatin 50 mg/m2 doublets every 3 weeks: paclitaxel (reference arm, PC), vinorelbine (VC), gemcitabine (GC) or topotecan (TC). Survival was the primary endpoint, with a 33% improvement relative to PC considered important. A planned interim analysis recommended early closure for futility.

- Arms
- Paclitaxel plus cisplatin (reference) (control): Paclitaxel 135 mg/m2 over 24 hours plus cisplatin 50 mg/m2 day 2 every 3 weeks
- Vinorelbine plus cisplatin (experimental): Vinorelbine 30 mg/m2 days 1 and 8 plus cisplatin 50 mg/m2 day 1 every 3 weeks
- Gemcitabine plus cisplatin (experimental): Gemcitabine 1,000 mg/m2 days 1 and 8 plus cisplatin 50 mg/m2 day 1 every 3 weeks
- Topotecan plus cisplatin (experimental): Topotecan 0.75 mg/m2 days 1 to 3 plus cisplatin 50 mg/m2 day 1 every 3 weeks
