Early Breast Cancer Trialists' Collaborative Group overviews of randomised trials of adjuvant therapy

Phase meta-analysis

Population
Women with early breast cancer in randomised trials of adjuvant systemic treatment or radiotherapy; populations differ by paper and are stated per result.
Design
Patient-level meta-analyses of randomised trials. Papers covered: tamoxifen (1998), polychemotherapy (1998), chemotherapy and hormonal therapy with 15-year survival (2005), radiotherapy and extent of surgery (2005), tamoxifen by receptor status (2011), radiotherapy after breast-conserving surgery (2011). Each overview has its own trial set; results below are selected values from named papers.
Arms
  • Allocated treatment (experimental): Adjuvant treatment under study in the paper (tamoxifen, chemotherapy or radiotherapy)
  • Control (control): No such treatment
