CHHiP

Conventional or Hypofractionated High Dose Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy for Prostate Cancer: CHHIP

Phase 3N = 3,216NCT00392535

Population
Men with localised prostate cancer (pT1b-T3aN0M0)
Design
Randomised (1:1:1), non-inferiority, phase 3 trial, 71 centres, October 2002 to June 2011: 3216 men with localised prostate cancer (pT1b-T3aN0M0) assigned to 74 Gy in 37 fractions over 7.4 weeks, 60 Gy in 20 fractions over 4 weeks, or 57 Gy in 19 fractions over 3.8 weeks, all with intensity-modulated techniques. Most patients had 3 to 6 months of neoadjuvant and concurrent androgen suppression. Primary endpoint: time to biochemical or clinical failure; critical hazard ratio for non-inferiority 1.208. Analysis by intention to treat (5-year outcomes, pre-planned).
Primary endpoint
BCF-free survival
