CHAARTED
Chemohormonal Therapy in Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer
Phase 3N = 790NCT00309985
- Population
- Men with metastatic, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (median age 63 years)
- Design
- Randomized trial of androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) plus docetaxel 75 mg/m2 every 3 weeks for six cycles versus ADT alone, in men with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. Primary objective: test whether median overall survival would be 33.3% longer with early docetaxel plus ADT than with ADT alone.
- Primary endpoint
- OS
- Arms
- ADT alone (control): Androgen-deprivation therapy alone
- ADT plus docetaxel (experimental): ADT plus docetaxel 75 mg/m2 every 3 weeks for six cycles

Median-only curves assume a constant hazard (exponential) and fit plateaus, as seen with some immunotherapies, poorly.
