Author of a 1939 report from Geneva, Switzerland, on radiotherapy in Hodgkin disease

René Gilbert

René Gilbert of Geneva reported a 17-year experience of treating Hodgkin disease with radiotherapy in 1939. According to Cowan's 2008 account, he treated lymph node areas separately and also treated regions without obvious disease, used low-voltage equipment, estimated that survival was about doubled, and stressed that relapses occurred.
