born 1939 · Researcher who reported evidence that the L-asparaginase of guinea pig serum accounts for its antilymphoma effect
J. D. Broome
Sole author of a 1961 Nature report and two 1963 Journal of Experimental Medicine papers titled as giving evidence that the L-asparaginase of guinea pig serum is responsible for its antilymphoma effects. A 2014 history credits him with showing that asparaginase could suppress or kill tumour cells and gives his birth year as 1939.
