Author of the 1970 paper on VM 26 (teniposide) as a podophyllum compound with a new mechanism of action and of the 1973 paper on the activity of VP 16-213 (etoposide) in experimental tumours; first author, with A. von Wartburg, of the 1991 Cain Memorial Award lecture on the route from podophyllotoxin glucoside to etoposide.
